Evaluation of the Selection System for Senior Manager in Government Agency
Evaluation of the selection system for Senior Managers (Grade 7s) including an analysis of grades awarded, subsequent performance incorporating other variables such as gender, experience, language. The aim was to identify the fairness and appropriateness of the procedures and to identify how they worked and whether there was any redundancy in the tools. Differences in scoring systems and missing data had to be dealt with.
The analysis was necessarily complex but needed to be communicated to a non-technical audience supported by professionals (e.g. statisticians and researchers) and had to be reported with rigour and with an eye to the sensitivity and confidentiality of the issues involved, the changes being perceived to be radical.
